Car accidents
When asked what causes car accidents, most people will be able to list the regular culprits like speeding, drink driving, fatigue and mobile phone use.

But there are of course many other causes for car accidents.

A study released this month found that in the UK, women cause half a million crashes each year due to driving while applying make up. A survey conducted as a part of the study found that 20% of women admitted to applying mascara while driving.

Women aged between 17 and 21 were found to be the highest offenders.

You can read more about the study online.

Another interesting study, this time from the USA, found that drivers with bumper stickers or ornaments hanging from their rear vision mirrors were more prone to road rage resulting in car accidents.

More detail about the study is available online.

So make sure you stay away from bumper stickers (and mascara!) while you are driving!
