With the new fire warnings and the severe fire danger conditions over the past week, it seems all I have been blogging about has been fire. And it isn't really a very uplifting topic to put a smile on your face.
So I thought I would try for a more light hearted blog post this Friday afternoon!
This Tuesday night just past, the Victoria Country Fire Authority was called out to a suspected gas leak, with surprising results. (Yes, I realise this is turning into a blog post about the fire brigade once again, but I promise it has a happy, amusing ending!)
Fifteen fire fighters and two fire tankers were called to a farm at Axedale in Victoria to investigate a report of a strong gas smell.
But as the fire fighters drove up the driveway to the property, they came upon a huge 120kg pig, and it became obvious fairly quickly as to where the smell was coming from!
Axedale fire captain Peter Harkins confirmed their suspicions, saying "We could not only smell it, but we heard it and it was quite funny."
After a quick giggle, the fire fighters headed back to their station.
I have a feeling this story will soon become the stuff of urban legend!
