Bicycle insurance personal accident cover
Your bike insurance covers you for:
- death
- an injury causing permanent and total loss of sight of an eye, thumb, finger or the use of a limb, caused directly and solely by an accident which occurs while you are riding your bicycle.
Under our personal accident cover, we will pay:
- the personal accident sum insured noted on the Insurance Certificate for claims involving death, permanent and total loss of sight of an eye or permanent and total loss of the use of a limb;
- 20% of the personal accident sum insured noted on the Insurance Certificate for claims involving permanent and total loss of the thumb or any finger.
We will also pay your reasonable costs, up to $1000 in the aggregate during the period of insurance, for non-Medicare medical expenses (incurred within 12 months of the injury) after any reimbursement from your health fund, if you are injured as a result of an accident involving the use of your bicycle.
Examples of non-Medicare medical expenses include private hospital accommodation, ambulance, physiotherapy, pharmacy and dentistry.
