Every year on the 8th of March, people all over the world will celebrate International Women’s Day - a very special occasion that recognises the social, political and economic achievements of women around the world, while focusing global attention on areas that need further action.
The first International Women’s Day was held back in 1911 - and it’s been celebrated on a grand scale ever since. Every year, thousands of people from all over the world come together to represent and recognise the achievements of great women. It’s an occasion that’s celebrated by organisations, governments, charities, educational institutions, women’s groups, corporations and media.
At Real Insurance, we understand the importance of recognising the strong women in our life! Not only high-achieving celebrities, sporting stars and business leaders, we also believe it’s a day for celebrating the everyday successes of women who, often, may otherwise go unrecognised; for paying tribute to the meaningful, everyday achievements made by our mothers, sisters, friends, colleagues and mentors.
This could, for instance, be a woman who has bravely fought, or who is currently fighting a life-threatening illness. Perhaps it’s an elderly neighbour who recently learnt to Skype with her great grandchildren, or a widowed friend who is inspiring others by spending her retirement travelling the world. Maybe it’s a colleague who has received a promotion and exceled in her profession or chosen field of study, or a friend who juggles work and motherhood with ease.
