CanTeen is a national support organisation for 12 to 24 year olds who are living with cancer. The Real Needs team were thrilled to help them out by sorting, counting, labeling and packing merchandise (bandanas and pens) ready for the organisation’s National Bandana Day, which is held in October each year.
Our team members Carlie, Dean, Frank, Jennifer, Kerri, Lara and Melanie worked solidly but had a lot of fun helping out the people at CanTeen.
“I’m not sure how they would have done it if we weren’t there as the amount of stock was huge!” said Jennifer. “It showed me how much charities need the help of the general public.”
The team also found the experience of being part of the Real Needs project personally rewarding.
“I love that we are a business that helps those in need,” said Frank.
Lara agreed, adding: “It felt good to be able to play a small part in helping the CanTeen cause. I also enjoyed getting to meet some of the people from other departments at Real Insurance. I would definitely do it again!”
