My "purchase" will be cancelled.
The person I spoke with was very friendly and informative, and I would most likely have gone with the product, but I explained to him very clearly that I was only after a quote and that I would need to discuss it with my partner before deciding, but when I got the paperwork through via email a short time later, it was clearly stated it would start within the week and they would be deducting the amount from my credit card, which I had felt pressured to give the details of. I felt he used very underhanded pressure tactics to sign me up on the spot when I had very clearly told him I wanted to think about it over the weekend. When I rang back to cancel it, I was put on hold for a good 10 minutes and then told that the people I needed to talk to were too busy and they'd call me back within 2 business days! Needless to say I will be contacting my bank to ensure the payment does not go through and will rethink my options for life insurance.
