The purchase process was simple and without problems. HOWEVER when my husband first took out this same insurance, you could carry-over unused kilometres to the next year. This was one of the chief benefits, and the reasons why I considered this insurance. I assumed this was still the case, until I completed the purchase then read the PDS carefully. Dropping this arrangement is a bad marketing move; it may earn you a few extra dollars, but it significantly reduces the attractiveness of the product. (It will certainly reduce the amount of kilometres my husband will purchase in April, if he renews; he wasn't aware of this change).
Easy. I entered my car registration number, and all the relevant details came up. Modelling different excesses and their effect on premiums was quick and easy, It was easy to compare the Comprehensive and Pay as You Go options. The PDS is very clear and easy to read, and covered everything I needed to know

Be upfront with excess options

Big difference from initial quote to the final rate but took a lot of questions on my part. You nearly lost a customer
The operator had a thick accent and we both struggled to understand each other. He didn't go over the excess options. When I asked whhy the rate was so much more than previous years he said it was because of my new (second hand) car. After accepting I then remembered I could change the excess and had to go through the process again to get a better rate. Happy now, but he should have been more upfront with options.
