I don't like the method used where I was given a quote and then the consultant 'just signed me up and nominated a date'. I felt bamboozled and said yes. I am still not sure if this insurance is right for me, I was intending to shop around however was told that I was signing up on the spot when I was clear I was asking for a quote. That individual consultant did a good job, I have other insurance through Real and the same thing happened in the last call too.

The consultant was courteous, very patient, friendly, well spoken and very thorough - he made sure I understood the terms of my policy before selling it to me. I wish all customer service was this good!

I rang up to ask a simple question about whether Real Income Protection Insurance would cover amateur BMX racing and I had to waste about 30 minutes of my time going through the whole application process to then find out about 6 hours later that it would be an exclusion on the policy. Surely a customer should be able to get a pre-assessment for participating in a particular sport or pastime without having to actually apply for a policy first and answer all the health related questions as well. After doing comparisons with other insurers I also found Real Income Protection insurance to be overpriced and not provide as many features and benefits as most other insurers on the market.

The staff are friendly and knowledge wise. However it would be appreciated if staff could talk slower on the phone as a lot of the disclaimer info goes over people's heads as it is read too fast and can get misunderstood.
